GE Appliances, a Haier company, invests $450 million into Appliance Park operations in Louisville

New equipment, products + 1,000 new jobs are in store for GE Appliances, a Haier company, thanks to a $450 million investment into its Appliance Park headquarters in Louisville.

The manufacturing giant released new details this week at the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show in Orlando on its plans for the investment, which is one of the largest in the company’s 100-year history.

Here’s a look at what’s on the agenda for GEA:

  • The addition of another line shift in its Laundry Plant to support the new GE Profile™ topload washer, which comes with the industry’s first built-in voice assistant + should be available in April.
  • Adding new tall tub + stainless steel tub dishwashers to support production of the GE Profile™ UltraFresh Dishwasher system — which is engineered with Microban® Antimicrobial Technology to help prevent bacterial growth.
  • Introducing new counter depth 4-door refrigerator models + adding new line shifts to its Refrigeration Plant.
  • New equipment + assembly lines will be added to meet current and future demand of products across the Appliance Park campus.

The appliance manufacturer, which employs about 7,300 full-time Louisvillians, contributes $6.1 billion to Kentucky’s Gross Domestic Product + $20 billion to the country’s overall GDP.
