The Louisville Downtown Partnership, a nonprofit working to promote downtown Louisville’s redevelopment and economic growth, released its 2022 recap — and it’s replete with everything from new businesses to investments and event attendee numbers.

Here’s a glimpse into what happened last year.

46 new businesses

Brew and Sip Cafe, Barrels & Billets, and Lou Lou on Market are just a few of the new businesses to open downtown. An additional 15 were also announced — like Bardstown Bourbon Company’s bourbon experience and Barista Parlor coffee shop.

50 projects announced or underway

These projects represent a $1.1 billion investment in downtown. Here a few notable ones:

540,675 people visited a bourbon attraction

Louisville’s bourbonism brought ~116,000 more tourists downtown than in 2019 — and they likely visited new attractions like Angel’s Envy’s $8.2 million expansion.
