Kentucky Fried Chicken headquarters leave Louisville for Texas

No news on whether the KFC Yum! Center will change its name.

Colonel Sanders is buried in Louisville at Cave Hill Cemetery.

KFC is leaving Louisville. The corporate brand headquarters are moving to Plano, Texas to join the Pizza Hut headquarters.

While Yum! Brands will retain corporate offices in Louisville, 100 corporate employees will relocate within the next six months. Additionally, 90 remote workers will be asked to return to office in 18 months.

Now, if only Taco Bell would join the Texas headquarters to make the ultimate KenTacoHut...

But what about Louisville?

To acknowledge its “deep-rooted history” in Kentucky, KFC has pledged a $1 million endowment to the University of Louisville College of Business to fund Yum!-sponsored scholarships for students.

If you’re looking for local chicken options, you can make the ~2.5-hour trek to the Sanders Cafe & Museum — after all, it all started in Corbin. Or check out the newest soul food option in Russell.
