Amazon is expanding its footprint in Louisville from warehouses to a physical storefront in St. Matthew’s Oxmoor Center.

The tech giant plans to renovate a 4,900-sqft space inside the Oxmoor Mall, which will house its first 4-Star store in the city. The project is expected to cost ~$657,500.

Amazon’s 4-Star stores feature a highly-curated selection of products that have — you guessed it all received 4-star reviews or higher on the company’s website. Products include electronics, toys, games, books, kitchen + more.

The Louisville 4-Star store won’t be the only new one in the region either — with a location in the works for The Summit at Fritz Farm in Lexington, Kentucky + another at the Kenwood Towne Centre in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The addition of the Amazon store is the latest development in the mall. In the last year, TopGolf has broken ground on its $18.6 million project in the former Sears. Last week, 28,000-sqft of leasable office space became available on the second floor of the Oxmoor Center + an upscale steakhouse, The Capital Grille, has plans to open by the mall at 7600 Shelbyville Rd., representing the restaurant’s first Kentucky location.
