The Louisville Pride Center sets opening date

The city’s first LGBTQ community center in decades will open on Tues., Oct. 11 — on National Coming Out Day.

The Louisville Pride Center is located at 1244 S. 3rd St. in the upper levels of the Asia Institute Crane House + will be open Mon.-Thurs., 12-7 p.m.

Here are a few quick details on the center:

  • It will offer legal services, mental health assistance + more
  • Social activities like game and movie nights, book clubs, and clothing swaps will also be held at the center
  • The center was funded by a mix of private donors and the Trager Family Foundation + proceeds from the Louisville Pride Festival — which is coming on Sat., Sept. 17.

Bonus: Queer Kentucky is seeking creative art + writing for its first-ever print edition. Queer creatives must submit their works by Mon., Sept. 5.
