It’s summer’s last hurrah.

The last day of summer is fast approaching (hi, Sept. 22), but there are still a few things we want to do before we trade our tank tops in for sweaters, boots, and scarves.

Here are five ways to soak up the remaining summer sunshine before the fall equinox.

☀️ Swim at The Quarry | Falling Rock Park, 2201 Fendley Mill Rd., La Grange, KY

Take one last jump from the rocks into the pristine waters of this Oldham County-based oasis over Labor Day weekend before it closes until May 2023just make sure to leave the coolers and the kiddos at home.

☀️ Rent a boat | Louisville Boat Rental, 1501 Marina’s Edge Way

Nothing says summer quite like getting out on a body of water — and stopping to dock and dine at Captain’s Quarters, River House, or Kingfish. While this boat rental company gives you all the tools to self-captain your vessel, captain’s hats are BYO.

☀️ Attend the Louisville Pride Festival | Bardstown Road in the Highlands

Send off the summer with Pride on Sat., Sept. 17 as you shop from 140+ vendors, enjoy live music, and connect with the community.

☀️ Waterfront Wednesday | Waterfront Park, 129 River Rd.

Don’t miss the final two events in this free concert series — which includes tonight’s show with Joan Osborne, Seratones, and Mark Charles. Then, mark your calendar for Wed., Sept. 28 to jam to the Yonder Mountain String Band, Hot Brown Smackdown + Houseplant.

☀️ Take a summer road trip | Multiple locations

Now’s the time to take in the final sights of the summer with a trip to Red River Gorge for some ziplining, explore Cave City attractions like JB’s Haunted Mansion & Snack Shack, or drive north to try the delectable dining in Indianapolis.
