The boys in purple take to the field tomorrow for the first game of the season against Atlanta United FC, so grab your LouCity FC hat + scarf because it’s going to be a chilly start to what should be a hot season.

Pro tip: Lynn Family Stadium has this nifty guide to help you prepare for game day — from parking instructions to an A to Z list of stadium policies.

LouCity FC ended its regular season last year with 18 wins, seven losses, and seven tied matches + averaged 10,088 fans at its home games. We’ve got spirit, yes we do, so here’s a look at the 2022 season.

Some new faces:

  • Head Coach Danny Cruz. It will be his first full season leading LouCity FC, though he’s worked alongside the team since 2018. He was named head coach in October.
  • Amadou Dia. The 28-year-old player joined the team in January to fill Jonathan Gomez’s former left-back spot. Amadou was Phoenix Rising FC’s club Defender of the year in 2018 + 2019.
  • Wilson Harris. A 22-year-old addition from Sporting Kansas City II, Wilson scored 25 goals in 66 appearances for his former team over the last four years.
  • Kyle Morton. The 27-year-old is a two-time finalist for USL Championship Goalkeeper of the Year + joins the club from the Houston Dynamo.

Key games

  • Tomorrow’s game at Lynn Family Stadium. LouCity won two matches out of four against Atlanta United last season + the team is regarded as one of the best reserve squads in Major League Soccer.
  • March 26. LouCity takes on rival Indy Eleven at Lynn Family Stadium — which will be the team’s last home game until the end of April.
  • July 2. A matchup against LouCity’s top divisional rival last year, Birmingham Legion FC, will take place on Saturday at home.
  • July 20. Phoenix Rising, the two-time USL Championship finalists, will face off against LouCity at Lynn Family Stadium.

Now that we’ve had a preview, warm up those vocal cords to cheer on LouCity. Check out these chants from the Louisville Coopers, a supporter group.
