New Year’s resoLOUtions from LOUtoday’s readers

We asked and you answered — here’s what Louisvillians want to see and do in the new year.

The new year is a time for reflection, just like reflections on the ice in Cherokee Park.

A new year is a fresh start, and for many of us that means committing to New Year’s resolutions.

But in the interest of keeping things hyper local, we’re more interested in your resoLOUtions. We asked what you wanted to see, do, or try in Louisville in the new year. Here’s what you had to say:

“Stay healthy.” — Sharon A.

Whatever that looks like for you Sharon, we’re with you. If you’re looking to pump iron or get moving in the new year, check out our guide to Derby City gyms. If you’re looking for a gentler exercise regimen, take a look through our guide to Louisville’s yoga studios.

“More of the outdoors.” — Cecilia K.

While this week is about the best time to stay inside, we’ll be joining Cecilia in enjoying Louisville’s outdoors as soon as the snow starts to melt — and maybe a little before then. For hikes of all skill levels and lengths, read our guide to Louisville trails. If a picnic is more your speed, we have a guide to Louisville’s parks as well.

“Sell my house.” — Jessica H.

We hope you’re not leaving Derby City, Jessica. But if you sell your house to someone new to LOU, be sure to send them our way to learn all the ins and outs of living in River City. And of course, be sure to clue them in on some of the unwritten rules of Louisville. If you are looking to move around inside of LOU but can’t decide on your new neighborhood, why not let the stars decide?

Bonus: Reader Darren R. has a real pie in the sky resolution — or should we say, a Bee in the sky?

“Want to see Beyonce at Bourbon and Beyond.”
