Louisville is always seeing new businesses pop up — so many it can be hard to keep up.

If you’re looking for a new place to quench your thirst — in the morning with a cup of Joe or in the evening with a glass of wine — these new spots have just the thing.

Oddbird

Celebrating its grand opening on Wednesday, Nov. 20, this new bakery + cafe comes from the same minds behind Quills Coffee. Pair your morning brew with a fresh pastry — like a danish or croissant — and bring home a loaf of bread for lunch.

West Lou Coffee

You’ll have to brew this new business’s coffee at home — for now. The first Black-owned roastery in Western Louisville opened on West Broadway in mid-November. You can buy beans by the bag online, or find them around town at places like Locals Food Hub.

Swig

This Utah-based “dirty soda” chain will be opening its first Louisville location by December. Expect to see blended sodas with cream, flavorings, and toppings in the Poplar Level soda shop. The first LOU Swig is opening just in time to offer seasonal treats like the Alpine Avalanche (Blended Dr Pepper + Toffee Crunch, Almond Roca, Caramel Sauce, and Vanilla Cream) or the Roasty Toasty (Hot Chocolate + Almond Roca, Caramel Sauce, and Coconut Cream).

Swig also offers a mobile soda bar with three base flavors + add-ins, plus snacks like cookies and pretzel bites.

Fizz District

A modern-day soda counter, Fizz District serves soft drinks + seltzers made from fresh fruit, along with zero-proof mocktails. They’re available with add-ins like collagen peptides for your skin, electrolyte hydration boosts, vitamins, and pre-workout formulas.

Fizz District will officially open next month, but stay tuned to social media for sneak peek weekends until then.

Roselynn Hill Winery

This winery + event space in J-Town opened in late October, serving glasses + bottles Wednesdays through Sundays. Pro tip: Stop by on Wednesdays 4-7 p.m. for a ladies night happy hour + Fridays 4-7 p.m. for an educator happy hour.
