  • The Wynder brothers, defender Josh and midfielder Elijah, are part of a small group of players who signed professional deals straight out of the club’s youth academy. Josh started 21 of his 24 USL Championship appearances last year and was named one of five finalists for U.S. Soccer’s 2022 Young Male Player of the Year award. After returning from a 2021 knee injury, Elijah helped secure a win for LouCity in the Eastern Conference Final of the 2022 USL Championship Playoffs against the Tampa Bay Rowdies by scoring the game-winning goal. He was also honored with the inaugural USL Championship Comeback Player of the Year award, presented by Shift4.
  • Forward Cameron Lancaster is poised for a bounce-back campaign after a hamstring pull and groin strain reduced his 2022 regular season contributions to only two starts in eight appearances. However, when on the pitch he proved as explosive as ever, scoring four goals in limited action. He’s also one of two players with multiple 20-goal seasons in the league (2018, 2021).
  • Forward Brian Ownby (who turns 33 this season) has only grown more effective in the later stages of his career. Ownby, who remains faster than counterparts a decade younger, scored a career-high nine goals during the 2022 regular season and chipped in the club’s only scoring strike in the USL Championship Final — despite playing at less than 100% due to a leg injury.
  • Goalkeeper Oliver Semmle recently signed with LouCity after a trial with Colorado Rapids. In 2021, he helped Marshall University capture the NCAA National Championship. The German native joins returning goalkeepers Kyle Morton + Danny Faundez who have both have missed time during the preseason due to injury, giving Semmle opportunity to shine in LouCity’s friendlies.
