Next fall, Fern Creek will be home to a new mixed-use commercial development called Cedar Creek Crossing.

The $20 million project by Hogan Real Estate will occupy five acres at 7718 Bardstown Road, near Bates Elementary School + Cedar Creek Baptist Church.

Cedar Creek Crossing will house nine units total centered around a parking lot. First Watch, Starbucks, McDonald’s, Chipotle, Sleep Number + Buff City Soap are among the first tenants that have been announced. Two businesses — yet to be named — are still finalizing their leases + an 8,775-sqft building and 11,800-sqft retail center still up for grabs.

Plans filed with the city show Buff City Soap will share a 5,596-sqft building with Starbucks, occupying a little more than half the square footage.

Similarly, Chipotle and Sleep Number will buddy-up in a 5,345-sqft building adjacent to Buff City + Starbucks. Across the parking lot, McDonald’s will post up its golden arches.

Construction crews broke ground on Cedar Creek in August, with Trademark Excavating handling the site work. DKN Architects lead the project’s design, while Land Design & Development serves as the engineer.

Fern Creek has had a bustling year for real estate development. Across from the planned shopping center, a 192-unit apartment development by The Highgates Group is also slated for the area + a 344-unit apartment complex by LDG Development at Old New Cut Road.
