Cookies, coffees, and chef specials are on the menu this week at discounted rates from Oct. 3-9 as the second annual 502 Black Eats Week is in full swing.

This year’s lineup features 18 restaurants, 13 bakeries, and 3 coffee shops to try. You must mention 502 Black Eats Week when you visit any of the participating restaurants in order to get the deals.

502 Black Eats Week, a marketing concept developed by Tiandra Robinson, compiles local, Black-owned food businesses for a week of deals and discounts meant to increase sales, exposure, and patronage for local business owners.

Pro tip: Be sure to check the hours for the restaurant you’re visiting as many in the city are closed on Monday and Tuesday. Some of the businesses featured are also mobile, so be sure to check their social media accounts for their updated locations.

🍽️ Wichin’ Pizza, 240 Adams St.

Coined Louisville’s first virtual eatery, Wichin’ Pizza operates exclusively as a fast-casual pickup and delivery restaurant. You can follow them on social media @wichinpizza for updates on special delivery days.

🍽️ The Black Italian, 2009 Highland Ave.

The restaurant is operated by husband-and-wife team Anthony and Paula Hunter. The Black Italian is not currently offering dine-in service due to the pandemic, so call-ahead ordering is required.
