We hate to say it, but it’s time to start thinking about summer camp. (We know, we know.) Registration season has begun and we’re here to help you get those kids in summer camp.

Waterfront Botanical Gardens

Let them get dirty. These weekday summer camps lets kids do everything from painting pots to learning about garden critters.

Cost: $285 for non-members

Wilderness Louisville

If your kid loves to be outdoors all day, this is the camp for them. Adventure, wilderness survival, and even cryptids await.

Cost: $200 per camper

YMCA Camp Piomingo is an overnight camp, but day camps are also an option.

Don’t get overwhelmed, but the Y has a dizzying amount of options for children ages 3 to 16. This chart helps break it down.

Cost: Varies by age + camp

Community Centers

You’ve got plenty of options through Louisville Parks and Recreation. Check out your nearest community center for summer camps or athletic leagues.

Cost: Summer camps range from $19 to $60. Registration for athletic leagues is $35.

SPEED Art Museum

Artsy kids will love getting creative at these week-long summer day camps. We’ve got our eye on the Portfolio Intensive for teens and Intro to Animation for those ages 7 to 13.

Cost: Non-member prices start at $250.

Lou City Academy

Kids ages 6 to 14 can train with talented players from clubs across the region. Choose between June and July camps.

Cost: $225 per player

Camp Frazier

The Frazier History Museum is the perfect summer camp for curious kids. Choose between topics like “History Through the Arts” or “Silver Screen Heroes.”

Cost: $295 per week for non-members

Louisville Zoo

The ultimate summer experience for animal lovers. Kids will get up-close encounters with small animals and enjoy the Zoo’s attractions — yes, even the carousel.

Cost: Non-member prices start at $190 per camper

Kentucky Science Center

Camps are based on grade level and offer everything from Pokémon Science Training to Escape Room Design. If a camp sells out, join the waitlist by shooting the center an email.

Cost: Non-member prices start at $400.

StageOne Academy

Do it for the drama. Pick between Theme Week Camps which explore imaginative play and drama games. Or choose a multi-week performance camp, which culminates in a production on the main stage.

Cost: Prices start at $280

McClanahan School of Irish Dance

Get stepping, kid. Introduce your child to the basics of Irish dancing.

Cost: $90 per camper and $75 for each additional sibling

The Parklands

Hiking, fishing, and kayaking, oh my. Kids will romp around the outdoors and get involved in hands-on science investigation.

Cost: Non-member prices are $250 per week

Set a reminder now — Registration for Camp Bernheim’s program for children ages 6-12 opens Saturday, March 1. If you’re a member, you can register early on Sunday, Feb. 23.
