Another prestigious golf event is coming to Louisville

The Solheim Cup will tee off at Valhalla Golf Club in 2028.

Valhalla opened in 1986 and has hosted several PGA events, including the 2008 Ryder Cup + four PGA Championships.

Grab your clubs, LOU, we’re teeing off.

The Solheim Cup is coming to Louisville’s Valhalla Golf Club in 2028. The biennial — that’s every two years — has been held since 1990, and pits teams representing America + Europe against one another, in a match-play competition. Think: It’s similar to the Ryder Cup.

The 2028 Solheim Cup will be the first major women’s golf competition held at Valhalla. The 38-year old club has hosted several high profile men’s events, including:

  • The PGA Championship in 1996, 2000, 2014, and 2024
  • The Senior PGA Championship in 2004 + 2011
  • The Ryder Cup in 2008.

Fun fact: Valhalla will become one of just four venues worldwide to host both the Ryder Cup + Solheim Cup.

Tickets for the 2028 edition are not yet on sale, but you can sign up for the waitlist. For the 2024 Solheim Cup — being held Sept. 10 through Sept. 15 in Gainesville, VA — general admission tickets start at $101.
