Brough Brothers planning second distillery in Louisville, KY

It’s more exciting news for the Waterfront Park area.

Locally-based bourbon company Brough Brothers is planning a second distillery location with a tasting room, bar, and outdoor game area near Waterfront Park that looks to be open by March 2023.

It will be located at 1250 River Rd. in the 1.8-acre lot owned by the Waterfront Development Corp. — less than a mile from the newly-announced pickleball “eatertainment” venue at 1515 River Rd.

The company is the commonwealth’s first African American-owned and operated distillery. Founded by brothers Chris, Victor, and Bryson Yarbrough, they opened their first location in the Park Hill neighborhood at 1460 Dixie Hwy. at the end of 2020.

It’s the latest announcement in a series of new developments for the area. A little more than a week ago, Waterfront Park broke ground on its Phase IV expansion — which will extend the park a whopping 22 acres — and construction on the Waterfront Botanical Garden’s authentic Japanese Garden began at the end of September.
