Boutique hotel planned for west Louisville neighborhood

A new hotel is planned for the Portland neighborhood right by fifteenTWELVE Creative Compound + Louisville Visual Art.

Spearheaded by local entrepreneur Gill Holland, The Devonian will be a newly-constructed, 25-room boutique hotel on 17,000 sqft of land between 1614 + 1624 Lytle St.

The indoor and outdoor spaces of the hotel — including amenities like a heated courtyard swimming pool and rooftop deck — will be open to the Portland community in addition to paying customers.

North Carolina’s Pod architecture + design will help bring the project to life with accents that reflect the area’s history, including geometric designs inspired by local fossils + a modernist, warehouse-esque building form that recalls the area’s origins as an industrial site.
