Around here, we’re missing the Olympics so badly we stand on the kitchen island, listen to the “Star-Spangled Banner,” and imagine we’re on the podium in Paris.

Just us? Weird.

If you’re also suffering from Olympic withdrawals, here are three ways you can see Olympians up close in Derby City:

  • USA BMX Derby City Nationals: This bike event takes place Friday, Aug. 31 through Sunday, Sept. 2 at Derby City BMX and features French 2024 Olympic gold medalist Joris Daudet. Parking is $10.
  • Gold Over America Tour: Led by 11-time Olympic medalist Simone Biles, this gymnastics show is coming to the KFC Yum! Center on Wednesday, Oct. 30. Tickets start at $35.
  • USWNT vs. Argentina: The gold-medal winning United States Women’s National Soccer Team is coming to Lynn Family Stadium on Wednesday, Aug. 30 to host Argentina in an international friendly. Tickets start at $70.
