Louisville’s climate is a bit more suited to the summer games — just look at how may Olympic athletes we sent to Paris back in 2024. But that doesn’t mean Louisvillians can’t get in on the Winter Olympics fun. Here are some ways you can get in on the Olympic fun right here in town.
Derby City Curlng Club
This organization operates out of the Alpine Ice Arena on Gardiner Lane. It offers Learn to Curl classes, plus members-only open curling nights once you learn your sliders from your grippers. Classes frequently sell out, so sign up well in advance.
Louisville Adult Hockey Players Association
The governing body for all Louisville-area adult leagues, the LAHPA helps coordinate games across all skill levels through USA Hockey. Leagues are ranked from 1 (true beginner, cannot skate) to 9 (has played on a professional level). Just sign up online and find a league that’s right for you.
Louisville Skating Academy
Whether you’re looking for basic skating lessons or advanced figure skating training, this is the place for you. Based at the Iceland Sports Complex just off New La Grange Road, this organization offers lessons for ages 3-adult.
