Sip on these specials for National Margarita Day in Louisville

The only question is, will you salt the rim or not?

Picture this: It’s 4:00, you’re gassed from a day full of meetings, and your soon-to-be favorite co-worker pops their head over your cubicle and says, “Wanna go out for margaritas?” That could be you, LOU.

Today, Feb. 22, is National Margarita Day, so we went ahead and made your post-work plans with these four local LOU specials — you can thank us later.

Margarita Week at Galaxie

National Margarita Day? Try National Margarita Week. Every day from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. through Saturday, Feb. 24, every margarita on the menu is 50% off at Galaxie (732 E. Market St.). Plus, there are several specialty flavors this week, like matcha pineapple, peanut butter jelly, and blood orange + three others.

House margaritas at El Mundo

If you’re into the classics, El Mundo (1767 Bardstown Rd.) has you covered. The house margarita is $5 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. — we won’t tell if you sneak away for lunch. Bonus: El Mundo has an extensive list of liquor offerings — including tequila, mezcal, and sotol — if you’re more of a “go your own way” type.

Lime Agave Margarita at Taco City

Is there a better feeling after a hard day’s work than wrapping your hand around a schooner glass — filled to the brim, of course — with a slice of lime, hanging on for dear life, on the rim? That’s what Taco City (1283 Bardstown Rd.) is offering for $7 from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., with their lime agave margarita special.

Meowgarita at Purrfect Day Cafe

The only thing with a higher approval rating than margarita specials might be kittens, so why not have both at Purrfect Day Cafe (1741 Bardstown Rd.)? With the purchase of a margarita, you’ll get a free sticker. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to hang out with — and adopt, if you wish — kittens. Talk about a win-win.
