If you’re already looking for inspo for next year’s Derby ‘fit — it’s never too early — the Kentucky Derby Museum might have just what you need.

A new exhibit, “See & Be Seen: 150 Years of Derby Fashion” features Derby drip through the decades, from as far back as the 1860s.

Throughout the exhibit, 32 fully dressed mannequins display the historic duds. The looks were lifted from a public fashion contest that launched in 2023 + contributions from:

  • Kentucky Derby Museum’s permanent collection
  • Kentucky Historical Society
  • Filson Historical Society
  • Kentucky Science Center

The exhibit also includes interactive + historic panels featuring digitized archives, photographs, and ephemera from Derby days of the past.
It is currently housed on the museum’s second floor, and is included with regular museum admission. It will move to a permanent home in the museum in 2025.
