If you had strong opinions on the litter survey Louisville Metro put out last week, now’s your chance to make a difference.

The volunteer-run organization Brightside provides gloves and bags for neighborhood cleanups and coordinates litter pickup with Solid Waste Management.

Anyone in LOU can organize a neighborhood cleanup throughout the year, but Brightside holds one each spring and fall — this year’s spring cleanup is Saturday, April 13. Registration for groups closes on Saturday, March 30. Pro tip: It’s a great volunteer opportunity for scout troops or students.

If you can’t get a neighborhood group together, there are plenty of other ways to get involved with cleaning up Derby City, like the Sweep & Sip events. Gallant Fox Brewing Company (2132 Frankfort Ave.) will host one on Saturday, April 13 at 11 a.m. and Old Louisville Brewery (625 W. Magnolia Ave.) on Sunday, April 14 at 2 p.m.
