Sunflower picking season has arrived

Select your own sunflowers, fruits, and veggies at nearby farms.

We’re definitely not in Kansas anymore.

The window for picking sunflowers varies depending on the sunflower variety, but peak blooming is usually late August to early September. That means this is the time to plan a trip to the nearest field to fill your house with big, yellow blooms.

Get picking at these three farms within a 90-minute drive from Louisville:

Huber’s Orchard & Winery, 19816 Huber Rd., Borden, IN
Head out on a tractor to snip sunflowers, zinnias + pick some blackberries too on this 156-acre farm Monday-Sunday. Sunflowers, zinnias, and blackberries are currently available.

Eckert’s Versaille Orchard,1396 Pinckard Pike, Versailles, KY
Blackberries are now available for picking Tuesday-Sunday, with sunflowers expected soon. .

Evans Orchard, 198 Stone Rd., Georgetown, KY
Head to Georgetown Tuesday-Sunday for sunflowers, zinnias, asters, and mixed flowers.
