The biggest day in vinyl is about to spin up tomorrow, April 12.
For almost 20 years, Record Store Day has been a celebration of independent record stores, the artists who make the music, and the fans who collect it.
Here’s how you can celebrate Record Store Day in LOU this year:
Better Days Records | This Barret Avenue shop will open at 8 a.m. to get the party started bright and early. Stop by for exclusive releases (Swifties, take note), plus live music throughout the day. Owner Ben Jones expects 100+ people to be lined up when the store opens — so don’t be late.
He has also offered the store’s parking lot + surrounds to any food trucks that have lost a weekend of business due to Thunder Over Louisville’s cancellation, free of charge.
Guest Room Records | Frankfort Avenue’s record shop will open its doors at 9 a.m. In addition to the 300+ Record Store Day releases, the shop will hold giveaways for Bourbon & Beyond passes and a new turntable. As if that’s not enough, all non-RSD merchandise will be 10% off, and the shop will be adding a big new drop of used vinyl to its collection.

Fish and spaghetti is one of the new noodle dishes on Enso’s menu. | Photo by LOUtoday
This Japanese and Southern fusion restaurant temporarily closed after a fire in October 2024, but now, Enso is back and with a few new menu items to boot — like fish and spaghetti.
You read that right. Fish and spaghetti, a three-way culinary fusion where Japanese, Southern, and Italian cuisine come together in one bowl for an unexpected comfort meal. So, what’s in it? Ramen noodles covered in a tomato-basil sauce are topped with a fried piece of catfish. Just order it already.
Fish and spaghetti is just one of the new dishes from chef Lawrence Weeks. Enso favorites like the Japanese potato salad, Japanese fried chicken, and matcha cheesecake are all back, but there’s some new creations to be had, too.
Enso is open Tuesday-Saturday, 5-10 p.m. + don’t miss happy hour 5-6 p.m.
