Museums are the cultural hubs of Louisville. Whether you’re looking to learn something new about Derby City or plotting a way to spend your Saturday afternoon, here are 12 museums to visit in our city.

Lanes have reopened on I-64 West between Mellwood Avenue and Breckenridge Lane. Crews finished work early, which included guardrail repair + new asphalt in the Cochrane Tunnel. Next, I-64 East will close from Friday, June 16 to Friday, July 1 as the $13.2 million I-64 rehabilitation project continues.

The Office of Sustainability released a Green Resources for Residents guidebook to help Louisvillians live a greener life — and save a buck or two. The free, 15-page booklet shares local programs, best practices, and details financial incentives — like tax credits for electric vehicles.
Concert
GRAMMY-nominated singer/songwriter Rufus Wainwright is coming to the Louisville Palace on Saturday, Sept. 30 to kick off the Louisville Orchestra’s Pops season. The show will feature 60 classical musicians alongside Rufus who will sing selections from his “Want” albums. Tickets go on sale this Friday, June 16 at 10 a.m.
Arts
Bust out your platform shoes and tube tops. The Speed After Hours event this Friday, June 16 is all about the 1990s. A vintage clothing pop-up, 1990s DJ set, and live band karaoke promise to make the night totally rad. Tickets are $20.
Feel Good
It’s never too late to make a splash. Central Adult Learn-to-Swim, Inc. (ALTS) has taught 500+ Louisvillians how to swim. The grant-funded program provides barrier-free access to adult swim lessons and aquatic fitness at Central High School. ALTS has hundreds of future swimmers on the waitlist, but applications are always open. (WDRB)
