Modica’s shimmering holiday cocktail is the gift that keeps on giving.
The Louisville-based drink mixer brand recently posted a how-to video for its Christmas Tree Drink that has gone viral, garnering 2.7+ million views Instagram.
Rather than emulate the flavor of a Christmas tree in a cocktail, Modica built a tree in a glass and topped it with a cocktail-filled ornament.
The boozy decoration is meant to be flipped over, pouring the cocktail into the glass. Talk about filling someone with holiday spirit.
The Cucumber Aloe Margarita -based drink is served in a clear ornament, which “hangs” on top of a glass filled with ice, cranberries, and a sprig of rosemary.

The recipes
Green drink:
- 4 oz Cucumber Aloe Margarita Mix
- 4 oz clear spirit of choice
- 2 oz water
- 2 squirts green Watkins natural food coloring
- 1/16 tsp Prism Powder edible glitter
Stir with ice and pour into ornaments.
Red drink:
- 4 oz Cucumber Aloe Margarita Mix
- 4 oz clear spirit of choice — tequila, vodka, gin
- 4 oz cranberry juice
- 1/16 tsp Prism Powder edible glitter
