Happy Women’s History Month, LOU. Bookmark these happenings celebrating the role of women in American history.

Sculpting Forward Together
Fabricate a soft sculpture from fabric, foam, and yarn during this workshop on Saturday, March 8 at the Speed Art Museum with local fiber artist Jenna Leigh Richards + learn thehistory of female sculpture artists, like Harriet Powers and Ruth Asawa.

Registration is $35, or $30 for Speed members.

“Women Who Say F*ck”
Head to Whirling Tiger on Sunday, March 9 for a screening of comedian Mandee McKelvey’s coemdy special “Clam,” shot right here in Louisville. The mini-film festival starts with a series of shorts from women filmmakers.

Tickets start at $5 + doors open on the red carpet at 6 p.m.

Women in Bourbon, Business & Basketball
Join the Whisky Chicks and the Mr. & Mrs. Bourbon Company for an evening with panelists from both the bourbon + basketball industries on Thursday, March 13. You’ll sip cocktails, dine from the University Club, and learn about the businesses of b-ball and bourbon from UofL women’s basketball assistant coach Amanda Butler, former UofL player Tia Gibbs, and Whisky Chicks founder Linda Ruttenach, among others.

SKYN Lounge
This boutique spa on Chenoweth Lane is offering shopping, networking, and lunch on International Women’s Day — That’s Thursday, March 13. Stop by between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. for food, giveaways, and sales. RSVP by Tuesday, March 11 to secure your spot.

Women in American Whiskey
Join the Oxmoor Bourbon Company for a presentation titled “From Farms to Front Offices: How Women Influenced American Whiskey” on Saturday, March 29 at 5 p.m. Former president of the Bourbon Women Association Susan Reigler will lead a guided tasting paired with the history of women’s contributions to bourbon history. Tickets are $58.

Wonder Women 2025
The Shawnee library will spotlight books, comics, and artworks by women in a free kid-friendly event (ages 5-18) on Saturday, March 29, 2-3:30 p.m.
