Beyond Van Gogh tickets on sale now in Louisville, KY

Back in February, we announced the “Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience” was coming to Louisville. Now, tickets are finally on sale to see the three-dimensional world of the post-impressionist artist.

More than 300 works will fill the 30,000 sqft of space in the Kentucky International Convention Center from Thurs., July 6-Sat., Sept. 3.

The global, traveling exhibitioncreated by French-Canadian Creative Director Matheieu St. Arnaud + his team at Montreal’s Normal Studiotransforms the two-dimensional works of Vincent van Gogh into a three-dimensional world showcasing some of his most influential works, like “The Starry Night” and “Sunflowers” using 3D projection technology.

Three fluid areas will make-up the “freed from the frame” experience — The Education Room, Waterfall Room, and Immersive Experience Room.

In addition to the ever-shifting, colorful world, patrons will also hear van Gogh’s dreams, thoughts and words set to symphonic score.

Tickets start at $39.99 for adults and $23.99 for kids + the exhibit will be open:

  • Wed.-Thurs. + Sun., 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
  • Fri. + Sat., 10 a.m.-9 p.m.

DYK: While the Speed Art Museum doesn’t have any of Vincent van Gogh’s paintings in its collection, the museum does have another post-impressionist artist’s work in its European and American Art collection — see Paul Cézanne’s “Two Apples on a Table.”
