We’ll admit, while the pumpkin spice latte reigns supreme here at LOUtoday, few things compare to the first crunchy bite of an apple on a crisp autumn day. We’re all about helping you create those moments, so we’re giving you a short list of where to enjoy apple-ly goodness in Derby City this fall.

🍎 Pick apples

Mulberry Orchard, 1330 Mulberry Pike, Shepherdsville, KY

Crimson Crisp, Gala, Ginger Gold and more varieties of apples will become available for the pickin’ on Sat., Sept. 17 + they’ll be available for purchase in the Orchard’s market through Halloween. Pro tip: Mulberry also sells jugs apple cider.

🍎 Eat apples

Primo Oils & Vinegars, 3628 Brownsboro Rd.

Three words: Honeycrisp apple butter, just like Grandma used to put on our sandwiches. It’s also available sugar-free + with pecans.

🍎 Smell apples

Black Dog Candles, online

This locally-based candle workshop whips up seasonal scents a la homemade apple pie, crisp + caramel apple — and you can get it in a modest 9 oz tumbler or a big three-wick, 15 oz wooden bowl.
