As the daily temperature continues to drop below the 60s and shimmery frost replaces the morning dew, it’s time to warm up with a bowl of chili.

So, Lou-chili-ans, here are a few of our favorite places to grab a bowl of this fall stew — with or without the noodles.

Four Pegs Smokehouse & Bar , 1053 Goss Ave.

This chili is pulling out all the meats and is the 2019 Chili Cook-Off winner . It’s stewed with brisket, chorizo + pork belly to make a burnt end chili you’ll want to never end.

Check’s Cafe , 1101 E. Burnett Ave.

This Schnitzelburg restaurant is a neighborhood institution dating back to 1944 + while its Texas-style chili isn’t quite that old, it’s what keeps bringing people back — some for over 50 years. Pro tip: Order it “all the way” with cheese and onions. Noodles are optional.

Billy’s Chili & Sandwiches , 1001 Logan St., Ste. 106

There’s a new stew on the block and they’re dishing out both meat and vegan chili inside Logan Street Market. Snag the combo — half of a sandwich + a cup of chili — for just $10.

The Barret Bar , 1012 Barret Ave.

Brenda’s Chili is back + comes one of two ways. Try the red bean or the white bean version both served with cheese and saltines.

CASK Southern Kitchen & Bar , 9980 Linn Station Rd.

This untraditional cup or bowl comes with fritos + sour cream, but it’s so darn good they named it, “Darn Good Chili.”

Gold Bar , 1601 Story Ave.

For a limited time, get this Butchertown bar special, a bowl of chili and a beer, for $6 + it’s the perfect spot to catch a game.

Frank’s Meat & Produce , 3342 Preston Hwy.
