If you keep up with local development news,you probably hear a lot about projects when they are announced. But what happens a year later? Or two? These things take time, so we’re here to keep you posted on the latest developments.
Mid City Mall
Just over a year ago, this mall built in the 1960s went up for sale for an undisclosed amount of money.
In July, a zoning certification was filed by Georgia-based developer Gaskins + LeCraw with the Metro Office of Planning for the construction of a 54,000-sqft grocery store and several separate retail buildings.
JeffBoat
The extravagant renderings of this Southern Indiana redevelopment turned some heads when they were unveiled two years ago this month.
When it was announced, the project was expected to take 10 years, so it’s not surprising there hasn’t been a ton of movement. Last month, the city of Jeffersonville announced it had secured a $20 million grant, one small step towards fully funding the project.

Classes have been canceled at JCPS schools following a UPS plane crash at the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport last night. JCPS says it will test air and water quality at all its school locations.

The Main Branch Library will close on Monday, Dec. 1 and remain closed for ~one year for major renovations. To help supplement a lapse in services from the branch’s closure, several other library branches are extending their hours + adding Sunday hours. (Louisville Public Media)
