Mayor Craig Greenberg + Louisville Bats owners Diamond Baseball Holdings announced a new home plate for downtown: A $250 million development that would replace the parking lot east of Louisville Slugger Field.
The proposed 500,000-sqft development would include:
~200 residential units
A ~170-room boutique hotel
Retail, office, and restaurant space
Additional parking space
A new entrance to Louisville Slugger Field
This project is not out of the park just yet — the developers are awaiting approval + input from the Waterfront Development Board, the state government, the City of Louisville, and the real MVP: you.
“What are people in Louisville looking for from that commercial space? Is it all restaurant? Is it retail? Is it some unique office space?” Mayor Greenberg said in a press conference Monday.

It was no blizzard of 1994, but Louisville saw a nice Derby City dusting over the Thanksgiving weekend — and more cold weather is on the way. We’ve rounded up some tips + tricks from Louisville Water to keep your pipes safe from Jack Frost.
Don’t wait — water starts freezing at 32 degrees, and you’re at risk of a frozen or burst pipe any time temps drop below freezing.
Wrap any exposed pipes in insulating materials — Think: foam tubing or fiberglass insulation.
Keep an eye out for any way cold can access you pipes — cover outside vents in the crawl space + keep your garage door closed.
Know where your shutoff valve is + tag it with a bright, waterproof label — you can pick one up at the Louisville Water main office.
Record your typical water usage — an unusual increase could indicate a leak.
