The real stars of the show in Louisville are its neighborhoods. | Photo by Louisville Tourism
One of the most loveable things about Louisville is the distinct character found in each neighborhood, district, and corner of town. They all have their own personalities and purposes — some would say it was written in the stars. Let’s take a look at how our neighborhoods align with the zodiac signs.
Virgo: Shelby Park | Aug. 23-Sept. 22
This earth sign has very practical and grounded qualities, making the Shelby Park neighborhood a perfect fit. With historical features — like its Carnegie library that could soon be revived — the neighborhood is grounded in the past but not bounded by it. It’s a place for growth — Logan Street Market is a new business incubator — and there are tons of new businesses and restaurants popping up all the time.
Libra: Russell | Sept. 23-Oct. 22
Russell’s active yet small-town vibe is just as balanced as a Libra. It’s a great place to stay active with several parks that are planned for the future — and it used to be home to Louisville’s only Major League Baseball team. And like Old Louisville, Russell has its fair share of Victorian charm too.
Scorpio: Beechmont | Oct. 23-Nov. 21
The aura of Beechmont’s picturesque Southern Parkway perfectly encapsulates this water sign. With iconic landmarks like Colonial Gardens and neighborhood spots like Annie’s Cafe that aren’t hard on your wallet, the Beechmont neighborhood provides the perfect welcome for its crown jewel — the 725+ acres of Iroquois Park.
Sagittarius: Clifton | Nov. 22-Dec. 21
As an adventure seeker, you’ll be able to make a speedy getaway from Clifton with close access to both I-64 + I-71. But before you go, you might want to grab a seat at the award-winning Silver Dollar if you’re a bit peckish, or take a walk like a chicken would if you’re — well, um— a bit peckish.

Which unhinged Lowe’s Halloween decoration are you?
If you’re as obsessed with Halloween decor as these locals are, you’re going to love Lowe’s new collection. | Photos provided by COLAtoday + GVLtoday.
Every year the life-size animatronic Halloween decorations get bigger, spookier, and well — more chaotic. This year is no exception, so we want to know:
Which life-sized Halloween decoration best matches your personality?
The 8-ft skeleton: You have classic taste. You don’t believe in following the trends. You know what you like and you stick to it.
The Haunted Harbor Sea Captain: You’re a natural-born leader. You love to plan a night out and always know the best new spots in town (thanks to LOUtoday).
The Dancing Wednesday Addams: You’re sarcastic and have a dark sense of humor, but you’re a loyal friend and an accidental trendsetter.
