Calling all home design enthusiasts — your September just got busier.

Whether you’re in the market for a new home or someone who just loves home interiors (we’re guilty of the latter), you’ll want to mark your calendars for Homearama 2024.

This year’s event continues the new tradition that started last year. Instead of being held in one community, Louisvillians will be able to tour 17 new luxury custom-built + model homes located throughout the region.

Produced by the Building Industry Association of Greater Louisville (since 1968), the three-week-long event showcases the latest in building trends, technology + interior design. Here’s what to know before you go:

🗓️ Mark your calendars

The show will take place on Sept. 6-8, Sept. 13-15, and Sept. 20-22. The tour hours are:
  • Fridays: 5-8 p.m.
  • Saturdays: 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
  • Sundays: 1-6 p.m.

🎟️ Grab tickets

Snag tickets online for $12 or pay $15 (cash only) at the door. Children 12 and under are free with a paying adult. Active and retired military enter free with an ID at the door.

What’s new at the Kentucky State Fair?

A red and white striped stand features corn dogs for sale. The corn dogs are in a silver tin, under a warming lamp.

With 120 years of history, there’s a lot of tradition at the Kentucky State Fair — but that doesn’t mean it’s just the same old pony show this year.

Here’s a look at what’s new:

Rides

  • The Samurai: A big swing ride that mimics a roller coaster. Officials promise it’s fun, as long as your stomach can handle it.

Eats

  • Chili Cheese Corn Dog: A traditional corn dog, filled with chili and topped with cheese.
  • Barbecue Pork Pizza: In addition to the meat, this pie comes with pickles and red onions on top.
  • Smoked Meatloaf Sandwich: A thick slice of meatloaf topped with pepperjack cheese.
  • Deep-fried Marshmallows: This sweet treat is topped with chocolate sauce + powdered sugar.
  • The Pink Cow: Located on the Midway, this stand offers handmade milkshakes. Maybe wait to stop here until after you’ve ridden the Samurai.
Bonus: Check out the full menu of State Fair eats.
