Louisville construction is booming. Within the last three years, over 30 major new developments have been proposed in the city + over 15 more are currently underway — now there’s a reason to raise the roof.

Here’s a closer look at five of those projects:

Bob Dylan’s Heaven’s Door whiskey experience, $3 million+

The famous musician’s brand experience, dubbed The Last Refuge, is slated to open later this summer inside a 150-year-old NuLu church and neighboring art gallery.

Features:
  • Retail store with Heaven’s Door products, Dylan’s albums and books + local goods
  • Music venue
  • Bar and restaurant
  • 4,000-sqft courtyard

Publix, $4.6 million+

While the popular grocery chain has announced three locations in Louisville, it’s only broken ground on one, a 55,701-sqft store at 2500 Terra Crossing Blvd. in the East End. It’s expected to open before the end of 2023.

Features:
  • Drive-thru pharmacy
  • Publix Liquors — the first one outside of Florida
  • Cult-followed subs known as “Pub subs”
