National Beer Day is always on April 7, and this year, it happens to fall on a Friday so you can start your weekend with an after-work brew.

Here are a few ways to honor the drinkable holiday locally:

  • Try Atrium Brewing’s new Wild Wild Midwest brew. The hop-forward American Wheat Beer drops today at both the Logan Street and Norton Commons locations.
  • Sip on some of TEN20 Craft Brewery’s 1834 American Lager — it’s being released in four-pack cans at both the Butchertown and Anchorage taprooms today.
  • Get an early start to your Saturday morning with a key lime sour at Gallant Fox . The Clifton brewery is opening at 11 a.m. to accommodate the Frankfort Avenue Easter Parade .
  • Head to Gravely Brewing tomorrow night for its Record High’s 80’s Era Edition event at 10 p.m. Dress for the theme and avoid a $5 cover charge.
  • Swap your usual Sunday morning plans for brunch + beer at Against the Grain Brewery and Public House downtown.
  • Try 3rd Turn Brewing’s new salted caramel doughnut stout , a collaboration with Dough Baby Doughnuts that debuted this week.
  • Start channeling summer vibes with Butchertown Brewing’s newest can release, Imperial Sunsets . The Piná Colada-inspired brew is sweet and gluten-free.

    Bonus:
Mark your calendars for more hoppy times, because Louisville Ale Trail’s third-annual Louisville Beer Appreciation Day is coming up on Tuesday, May 2. Louisvillians are encouraged to pour a pint and join a city-wide toast at 5:02 p.m. to commemorate this special day in the 502.
