This past October, we told y’all about a new pickleball venue opening on the riverfront.

Fast forward to today: the “eatertainment” concept has a name, signage installed, and a local restaurateur on board or should we say court?

Goodbounce Pickleball Yard is on track for a spring 2023 opening, and has announced that Ashlee Northington of Happy Belly Bistro will be the primary culinary provider.

Goodbounce will become Happy Belly Bistro’s second permanent location in Derby City. Ashlee is planning for a rotating menu of fusion dishes. Think: build-your-own tacos, nachos and bowls, burgers, and fried chicken.

Construction for the venue is still in its first phase with six pickleball courts, a gameyard, and the restaurant and bar being built.

Get ready to eat, sport, and chill at the 45,000 sqft space located at 1515 River Shore Dr. this spring — you might even see LOUtoday battling it out on the courts.
