Calling all home design enthusiasts — your September just got busier.
Whether you’re in the market for a new home or someone who just loves home interiors (we’re guilty of the latter), you’ll want to mark your calendars for Homearama 2025.
This year’s event continues the new tradition that started last year. Instead of being held in one community, Louisvillians will be able to tour 27 new luxury custom-built + model homes located throughout the region.
Produced by the Building Industry Association of Greater Louisville (since 1968), the three-week-long event showcases the latest in building trends, technology + interior design. Here’s what to know before you go:

Move over 502. The Kentucky Public Service Commission has decided on a new area code as the OG nears the end of its available numbers. The Louisville area will eventually also feature phone numbers starting with 761. (WDRB)
Development
Remember the renderings for the redesigned Belvedere released earlier this year? They may not proceed exactly as planned. Officials say reworked designs will be announced in September. (WDRB)
Edu
50. That’s how many years the GE Edison Engineering Development Program has been offering a free engineering degree through the J. B. Speed School of Engineering. Fun fact: It’s also how long the company has called Louisville home.
History
That 50 years is nothing compared to Merkley Kendrick Jewelers, a St. Matthews jewelry store that’s been open since 1832. In honor of the store’s 193rd anniversary, the Frazier History Museum will rename its rooftop balcony.
Environment
The deadline to apply for Solarize Louisville has been extended to Monday, Sept. 15. Eligible homeowners can get solar panels installed to help move toward 100% clean energy.
Sports
On this episode of Locked On Louisville, Dalton Pence ranks the Louisville football schedule games in terms of toughness, from non conference contests to tough ACC matchups.
Number
500+. That’s how many small businesses, manufacturers, and local companies have posted jobs on Job Board. Try it for yourself. Post unlimited job listings for free + get connected with top local talent.
Weather
Fire, storms, and theft — oh my. Hazard insurance picks up where basic coverage stops, filling in the gaps before it’s too late. Higginbotham can help protect your home before disaster hits.*
The Buy
A great deal for your home on Home Shopping Network. Fun fact: First time customers can save $15 off $35+ with code WELCOME2025.
The fun doesn’t have to end here. After reading the newsletter, head over to our games page. Games refresh with new challenges every day at 6 a.m. from crossword puzzle to Sudoku to themed word search.
Last week, I asked you about your favorite local thrift stores and your best scores. Fleur de Flea was the stand out favorite with 44% of the vote. Here’s what reader Lyn D. found there:
“Book ends at Fleur de Flea, they say THE on one side and END on the other. Brass and wooden. So cute and vintage!”
