This weekend marks the 176th year of the St. Joseph Children’s Home picnic — that makes it 25 years older than the Kentucky Derby. If you’re looking to visit one of the oldest running events in Louisville, here’s some need-to-know info:
The event runs on Friday, Aug. 8, 5 p.m.-10 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 9, 12 p.m.-12 a.m.
There will be live music Friday evening and Saturday starting at 1 p.m.
Buy tickets for food + beverages online until tomorrow at 5 p.m. Pro tip: You’ll get a 15% discount if you buy 100+ tickets online.
The kids carnival area, for kids 5 and under, is only open Saturday, 12-8 p.m. An all-day admission wristband is $10.
Raffle tickets can be bought on-site or online. Winners will be drawn at the end of the picnic + contacted by email or phone — so you don’t need to stay up till midnight to win.
There are still volunteer slots for setup, cleanup, and more.
