We can just feel a WNBA expansion on the horizon. | Graphic by LOUtoday
Louisville is a hot spot for sports. Think: Racing Louisville, the only top-tier professional sports team in town. And the University of Louisville women’s basketball team absolutely cooked in the NCAA Tournament.
This begs the question: What would a new WNBA franchise look like in Louisville? It’s possible — the WNBA is expanding quickly, and Mayor Craig Greenberg has expressed interest in the past. Plus, the KFC Yum! Center is right there.
So let’s build a make-believe team. What would the name be? The mascot? Which coach would you poach?
