Goodbye, 9-5. If you (or someone you know) recently retired, you might be looking for activities catering to older adults. Clock into our retirement guide, and find opportunities in Louisville that work for you.

We asked our readers for their favorite retirement pastimes, and LOU has plenty to offer. As reader Kay M. put it, “So many things to do, not enough time. How did I ever work?”

Meet your community

Louisville has a number of senior community centers that host meals, activities, and more. Take a look at this list to find one near you:

Take a class

It’s never too late to learn new skills while making friends. Adult classes offering crafts, acting, and language lessons will keep you busy.

Reader tip: Marbara S. suggested “using the LFPL.” There might be more on offer at your local branch than you expect.

City Guides are presented by LouCity & Racing.

Outdoors

The Iroquois Park Overlook will be open to vehicle traffic this Saturday + Sunday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. If you prefer your parks car-free, remember that Cherokee Park is closed to vehicles the final Sunday of each month.

Civic

Restoration is complete on the historic awning + canopy at TARC’s headquarters. The sidewalk in front of the terminal is once again open. Maybe this building needs to go on our list of Louisville landmarks?
