A festive parade float themed "Irish Fivi-O" features people dressed in green and police-themed attire, waving and celebrating. The float is decorated with an Irish flag, gold coins, and cityscape imagery with police badges. A person in a green and white striped prisoner costume with a colorful wig stands at the edge, adding to the lively atmosphere. The parade is taking place on a street lined with leafless trees and a church visible in the background, under an overcast sky.

The 52nd annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade is tomorrow — and lucky for you, we’ve rounded up the need-to-know parade info, parties, and more. Consider this the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Parade pro tips

Street closures: 14 Highlands area thoroughfares will be closed from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., including notable streets like Broadway, Grinstead Drive, and Barret Avenue.

Parking: Street parking on nearby side streets is your best bet, but be sure to double check no parking zones and get to the area at least an hour early to start scoping out spots. You can also try your luck at two public parking lots in Paristown.
Four stylishly dressed people pose in front of a retro brown van with "Ponyboy Slings" written on the side. The group appears to be at an outdoor event, wearing vintage and eclectic outfits, including fur-lined coats, a red leather trench coat, a denim jacket, and a wide-brimmed hat. They are accessorized with sunglasses, beaded necklaces, and buttons. The van has a classic, custom design with wood paneling and a hexagonal window, adding to the nostalgic aesthetic. The group is smiling and standing closely together.

Keep an eye out for Ponyboy Slings’ Ponywagon in the parade this year.

Paddy parties

“The Irish Triangle” — O’shea’s Irish Pub, Molly Malone’s Irish Pub, and Flannagan’s Ale House — will without a doubt be buzzing during the parade, but here are few other parties to shamrock and roll.
  • PG&J’s Dog Park Bar | Bring you furry friend and grab a table in the beer garden for optimal parade views.
  • The Fauxgues at Seidenfaden’s | Keep the party going with this local band covering Irish punk band The Pogues three blocks from the parade. Doors are at 9 p.m.
  • Green Getdown | Go green at Atrium Brewing from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. with the release of O’beer passion fruit sour, Ecto Punch hard seltzer + green cocktails, slushies, and shots.

The Wrap

Today’s edition by: Katie

A dimly lit bar or lounge with exposed brick walls, dark tufted leather seating, and round wooden tables. The space is illuminated by warm candlelight, vintage-style wall sconces, and string lights along the wooden beam ceiling. Round and oval mirrors decorate the walls, reflecting ambient light. The decor includes plush throw pillows on the seating and small candles on the tables, creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere.
I recently stumbled upon Hereafter, a newish speakeasy across from 21C — and I’m so glad I did. Located in the former Flamingo Lounge and Jimmy Can’t Dance space on 7th Street, the cocktail lounge is Wednesday Addams meets Prohibition bourbon. While the “potions and libations” menu had plenty to offer, I shook the cocktail-themed Magic 8 Ball to reveal my order, a whiskey sour.

Hereafter hosts triva, live music, and burlesque regularly + has a full kitchen if you’re looking for a bite.
