Jefferson County Public Schools
Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) contains 170 schools for 94,393 students, according to U.S. News. Those include 104 elementary schools, 51 middle schools, and 24 high schools. Here are four fast facts about JCPS:

The Great Flood Brewing taproom in Middletown has poured its last beer. The brewery shut down the taproom over the weekend. The Highlands location (2120 Bardstown Rd.) is still flowing, offering sips like the Find A Way IPA daily.

In other brews, Pivot Brewing is for sale. The brewery is offering up its Louisville taproom (1753 Bardstown Rd.), Lexington taproom + production facility, and all intellectual property. It will be accepting bids through Wednesday, July 31.
Festival
The Sky Soul Festival is coming to Waterfront Park on Saturday, Aug. 10. The entertainment lineup will include Grammy-winning singer Anthony Hamilton + rapper Doug E. Fresh, and several other acts. Tickets start at $50.

Do-nut skip over this news — the Krispy Kreme location (3000 Bardstown Rd.) that caught fire earlier this year is set to be partially demolished. Exploratory demolition will allow workers to see where repairs need to be made. The store burned in late May. (Louisville Business First)

Starting tonight, there will be a little more whiskey on Whiskey Row.
Monk’s Road Boiler House (131 W. Main St.) is set to host its grand opening Wednesday evening. The new fine dining restaurant + tasting room will take over the former Bearno’s By the Bridge space, just across 2nd Street from the KFC Yum! Center.
Here’s a little taste of what the new space will offer:
Two levels, with fine dining cuisine on the upstairs and a speakeasy-style bar downstairs
The restaurant will offer a chophouse-style menu curated by Chef Ciro Matteo Pirozzi, featuring hand-cut steaks, seafood, and pasta.
The drink menu will offer cocktails featuring Monk’s Road bourbons + gins and Rattle and Snap Tennessee whiskeys
The Boiler House will also be the exclusive home of the Monk’s Road High Rye bourbon, a 120-proof, single barrel sip.
Louisville’s extraordinary park system is just a little more special this morning — Elliott Park re-opened after months of renovations. The $3 million restoration includes a restored field house + new picnic facilities, walking paths, and sprayground.
