The Louisville Ale Trail will host its annual Louisville Beer Week Friday, Oct. 20 through Friday, Oct. 27.
This year’s celebration of local craft breweries will kick off with the second annual beer festival at German American Club + features an inaugural My Morning Beer Fest. Like always, the week will also include beer releases, panel discussions, and other events hosted by breweries across Derby City.
The Beer Festival
Head to the German American Club (1840 Lincoln Ave.) on Friday, Oct. 20 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. for beer + music by DJ 7foot. A $10 ticket gets you a commemorative Louisville Beer Fest taster glass.

Apocalypse Brew Works, 1612 Mellwood Ave. | Try the “Cream-ation,” a cream ale Apocalypse describes as “no ashes, just clean malt flavor with a crisp finish” + head here for OctDOBErfest on Saturday, Oct. 21.
Gallant Fox Brewing, 2132 Frankfort Ave. | It’s October, so get the Foxtoberfest — a crisp and malty märzen.

“Golden Girls: The Laughs Continue,” a stage show written by Robert Leleux, will make a stop in the Derby City on March 26, 2024 at The Brown Theatre. Tickets go on sale this Friday, Oct. 13.
Traffic
Hikes Lane’s $7 million rehabilitation project is in the final stages of completion. According to Metro Councilman Brent Ackerson, the work could be completed by the end of the month. In the meantime, drivers near the Bon Air and Buechel neighborhoods should adhere to traffic signs. (WDRB)
Civic
KYTC is seeking input from locals on an upcoming bridge replacement project in the German-Paristown neighborhood. The project will remove + replace the bridge on East Kentucky Street going over South Beargrass Creek. Share comments or concerns through the end of the month by calling 502-764-0834. (WDRB)
Outdoors
Speaking of German-Paristown... The neighborhood + Schnitzelburg recently received grant funding that will go toward planting ~150 new trees across the three areas. Neighborhood residents can request a complimentary tree for their property now.
Community
This Saturday, Oct. 14 marks Logan Street Market’s four-year anniversary. Celebrations will begin on Friday with a Family Fun Night at 5 p.m., followed by a special ceremony on Saturday at 10 a.m. The weekend lineup also includes artisan pop-ups, live music performances, workshops, and a new pickleball court.
Drink
In case you missed it, Copper & Kings is launching its first-ever bourbon. The Butchertown brandy distillery will celebrate the new release with a launch party on Thursday, Oct. 19 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. All are welcome to attend, and guests are encouraged to dress in orange and black.
