Louisvillians, grab your red and black gear — football season is back — and the Cards’ first home game is tonight. Read on for a rundown of all things game day.

What everyone’s talking about:

You’ve heard the buzz about the Cardinals’ victory over Georgia Tech on Friday, Sept. 1. After falling behind by 15 points at halftime, UofL won 39-34.

We’ll see if the new coach Jeff Brohm can keep up the good work against Murray State University. Given that Louisville is home to “Mr. Football” himself, he’s got a lot at stake.

Watch from home:

Watch the Cardinals live with a 5-day free trial of DIRECTV Stream or with a Hulu Live TV subscription.

Pro tip: HANDS offers a home safety checklist with each family they work with to make sure they are aware of what they need to do to get their home ready. | Photo by by Chris Humphrey
In nesting mode? Along with painting the nursery and organizing baby clothes, it’s important to prioritize safety throughout your home.

Here are three baby-proofing tips to keep in mind:
  • Make sure outlets are covered and cords are inaccessible.
  • Use back burners on the stove to cook, so little fingers won’t touch hot burners.
  • Use safety gates to block access to stairs and rooms to keep babies within eyesight.

I’ve got a pro tip for you today about L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium — no umbrellas. If it looks like rain, bring a poncho. Just ask anyone who attended the Beyoncé concert in July.
