In case you missed it while surviving the heat wave or looking up at the Blue Moon, we shared 30+ stories with you in August — from a Guy Fieri bar crawl to a new outdoor sculpture gallery at the Speed Art Museum. But among all those articles, there were five that seemed to capture your attention the most.

RiverLink transition
A lot of changes are coming to RiverLink as they continue to switch to a new tolling system provider. We put in the leg work and broke down the 5 things you need to know once the transition is complete later this year.

A well-traveled cobblestone street
We originally shared this story in February, but when we shared it again, it apparently hit differently. Garnering over 190,000 views on Facebook, y’all really enjoyed learning about the 121-year-old bumpy slope between Grinstead Drive and Frankfort Avenue — AKA the Peterson Avenue Hill.

Painter’s Row development
A $17.5 million multi-use development announced its plans to redevelop the former masonry and timber warehouses on Lytle Street in the Portland neighborhood. The two buildings will be transformed into office and retail spaces, restaurants, and apartment units.

Heading to Bourbon & Beyond Sept. 14-17? Good choice. Before bourbon sampling (and in between seeing Bruno Mars, The Killers, and 60+ other artists), take tabs on these music-pairing tips from bourbon expert Chris Blandford, who curated an extensive lineup of bourbons for the festival’s Kroger Big Bourbon Bar.

🎸 Match intensity + mood

Think:
  • Rock or blues — bold and oaky bourbon
  • Progressive rock (or other intricate, layered genres) — rich, complex bourbon
  • Jazz — smooth and sweet bourbon
  • Acoustic or folk music — simple, no-fuss bourbon
🥃 Consider flavors

Think about the flavor profile and how it complements the music’s emotions. A bourbon with lots of caramel and vanilla notes might pair nicely with mellow tunes, while a spicier bourbon could resonate with energetic tracks.

🎵 Experiment

Try different bourbons with various music genres to find combinations you enjoy. The goal is to create a harmonious balance that enhances both the bourbon-drinking experience and the enjoyment of the music.
