The Myriad Hotel, a 65-room boutique hotel, is opening in the former Baxter Avenue disco ball factory — which spun out about 90% of the mirrored globes around the world during the 1970s disco era.

The new Highlands accommodation at 900 Baxter Ave. is the latest project from Kentucky-based hospitality group Common Bond Hotel Collection and is expected to open this August.

Here’s a look at The Myriad Hotel’s amenities.

Rooms

Guests can choose between 15 different room styles, including a 10-person bunk suite equipped with two sets of queen-sized bunk beds. While renovations are still underway, bookings are open and start at $199 per night.

The Myriad Swim Club

Located in the center of the hotel, this outdoor lounge pool has cabanas, a poolside bar, and a tanning deck. Plus, you don’t have to be a guest to take a dip. Day passes will be available for non-hotel guests, too.

From the editor
When I was in high school, I tried out for “American Idol” when auditions came to town. I’m pretty sure I sang the Creedence Clearwater Revival’s version of “Proud Mary.” Unfortunately, I didn’t advance to the next round like D’Corey.

Check out a few of the other hopeful Louisvillians who auditioned with me that day.
