Owned by Chelsea Monsma and Sarah Height, the new bar and store represent a lot of firsts for our city — including being Louisville’s first and only natural wine bar and first and only coffee bar and wine shop.
We dropped by during opening day on Monday. Here’s what you need to know:
The bar
Exposed brick, mood lighting + fresh fruit and flower table pieces set the scene for the European-style bar boasting six categories of wine — white, red, sparkling, orange, rose, and crushable red — by the glass or bottle.
And for the non-winos, the bar is serving cocktails, signature shots, beer, cider, sake, and a robust non-alcoholic selection — we recommend the Ghia aperitivo spritz.
The Canary Club bar is open Mon.-Fri., 4 p.m.-2 a.m. and Sat.-Sun., 12 p.m.-2 a.m. Check out its weekly features including happy hour, karaoke Fridays, and Monday industry night.
Pro tip: The bottleshop and bar are connected so that you can move back and forth between the two.
Eats
TheSpanish-style tapas menu (available daily until 1:30 a.m.) features dishes like chimichurri peanuts, charcuterie cones, patatas bravas, and high-end tinned fish — which is the latest foodie trend, thanks Tik Tok.
We tried the Fishwife Smoked Salmon Chili Crisp served with baguette, pickled red onions + mustard on a fish-shaped plate. If the bottleshop hadn’t closed at 9 p.m., we would’ve bought at least 10 more to bring home. It was that good.
The shop + coffee bar
Speaking of the bottleshop, it’s open Mon.-Sun., 7 a.m.-9 p.m. and on Sundays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and sells a variety of wine, beer, cider, gourmet foods + more. It also doubles as a coffee bar and features a walk-up window.
Bonus: Stop by for free wine tastings on Saturdays 2-4 p.m.

Each hole will feature an interactive, nostalgic game in addition to the mini-golf itself. | Photo by Puttshack
Puttshack, a new tech-infused mini golf experience, is opening in Oxmoor Center on Wednesday, March 20 at 4 p.m. It’s the latest concept from the co-founders of Flight Club, AceBounce, and Top Golf.
The immersive 25,000-sqft entertainment venue will have four nine-hole mini golf courses — prices range $9-$14 — that integrate the company’s patented technology, Trackaball™, which keeps track of your score while playing.
Here’s what else to expect from Puttshack:
Two full-service bars, serving cocktails like The Oxmoor Manhattan — Bulleit Bourbon, pecan bitters, sweet vermouth and cherry garnish — as well as local beers, like the Falls City pilsner
56-seat outdoor patio
Private event space
Interactive games at each hole like life-size beer pong, air hockey, roulette, connect four, and more
Dedicated DJ Booth
The Puttshack food menu will feature global fare — think: poutine, crab dip, and Korean BBQ bao buns — mixed with Kentucky classics, creating distinct flavors like Burgoo-inspired spring rolls filled with pulled pork + okra and lima beans served with Henry Bain’s sauce.
Puttshack will offer a family-friendly setting during the day, but that will shift to an “elevated nightlife” environment after 8 p.m. — only open to those 21+.
The Derby City location will join 15+ other locationsaround the globe.
