For the last two decades, Louisville’s Belvedere plaza has been home to WorldFest, a celebration of the international cultures and communities that make up Derby City. This year, WorldFest will be held over Labor Day weekend, Friday, Aug. 30-Monday, Sept. 2.
This year’s specific events are still being firmed up, but here’s a sample of what you can expect:
- 150 international arts, crafts, merchandise, and food booths in the Vendor Village
- The World of Information will drop knowledge on services for international Louisvillians
- An activity zone for kids to learn about cultures and customs from around the world through arts and crafts
- The Parade of Cultures showcasing the diverse cultures of Louisville — expect music, flags, and dancing
- The Global Village with booths highlighting cultures and customs from all over the world — Saturday and Sunday only
Applications are now open for the Parade of Cultures and Global Village.
