It’s a week celebrating one of Louisville’s signature dishes, and here’s where you can eat it.

The original that inspired them all — the Hot Brown at the Brown Hotel.

What do you call a dish with turkey, bacon, and tomatoes, served on white bread, all covered in cheesy Mornay sauce? A Hot Brown, of course.

The third annual Louisville Hot Brown Week is coming up Monday, Oct. 21 through Sunday Oct. 27, celebrating Louisville’s signature culinary icon.

We’ve got the info you need to enjoy the iconic, open-faced sandwich.

  • Read up on the history of the Hot Brownso you know what you’ll be digging into.
  • This year, 13 restaurants are taking part, including Four Pegs in Germantown, Rubbie’s in the Kenwood area, and The Cafe in Paristown Pointe. Take a bite out of the full list.
  • Download the app to keep track of your progress. If you check-in at four or more participating restaurants, you’ll get the chance to win $250 in gift cards — that’s a lot of Hot Browns.
