This weekend marks the first major Louisville beer festival of the year: Tailspin Ale Fest. This annual event takes place at Bowman Field and will feature over 250 local + regional beers. If you’ve never been to Tailspin, here’s a bit of what you can expect:
A souvenir cup to sample a selection of each brewer’s beers — unlimited free pours with your ticket
Local food trucks
A silent disco
Live music
A cigar lounge
Up-close viewing of classic airplanes
Dedicated bars for bourbon barrel aged beers, sours, and ciders, along with wine
VIP tickets have been sold out for weeks, but there’s still time to snag your general admission “Coach Class” tickets for this Saturday. Bonus: If you’re not planning to drink, you can still attend the festival with the steeply-discounted “Flight Attendant” ticket, designed for designated drivers.
A new theater space is coming to Russell later this summer. The Grand Lyric Theater is under construction by Louisville Central Community Centers Inc. The 8,000-sqft, 330-seat venue will be used for the organization’s performing arts programs. (Louisville Business First)
